The 28th image for the 2023 Halloween Countdown
Day 28 brought us "Bogeyman", which I knew I wanted some sort of creeper figure just about to reach out and touch someone who was sleeping and vulnerable. I didn't want a scary creature for this and found Oso Lurker for Genesis 8.1 Male by Oso3D on the Daz Store. He definitely fits the creepy bill!
I do remember it being challenging to get the poses into place and the scene being very tight to fit into the frame, but after some work, it fell into place.
The lighting was also challenging. There were a lot of yellows which I wasn't happy with, but ultimately decided to keep as it started to feel more like a candlelit setting.
I do remember doing a lot of little camera moves and lighting changes to attempt to get it the way I wanted.
It feels creepy to me, but maybe I should have kept more shadows. The bogeyman should have crept from the shadows for a more creepy dark scary feel. This feels to me more like a creeper watching someone sleep.
I can see that I added a heavy vignette to the image, making me realize that yes, I should have been more shadowy instead of brightly lit. I think that was probably my subconscious mind attempting to make it that way after the fact.
More creeper than bogeyman, I still wouldn't want him touching me!
